What's the job?

Come start a career with us at CertainTeed as a Tarp Operator.

The Tarp Operator will tarp trucks in the warehouse safely and efficiently to safely transport products from CertainTeed to our customers. Shift work will be flexible based on completion of daily loads before leaving.

Shift: 1st shift (7:00AM-3:00PM) (potentially later to complete daily load lists)

Compensation: $20.00/hour

Job Duties:

Safety & Compliance

Understand all Plant Safety Rules

Understand all safety procedures associated with the tarp operation

Understand and follow all SOPs related to the tarp operation

Understand and manage all plant emergency situations and procedures

Report all safety incidents to , Distribution Lead, Supervisor or Manager, and/or EHS Manager

Proper use of necessary PPE required in the plant work areas

Understand pedestrian & mobile equipment safety in the various work areas

Tarping

Strap and edge protector application procedures

Tarp machine operations (machine operations)

Ergonomics associated with handling tarps

Ergonomics associated with handling tarp materials (poly sheet rolls)

Understand hand safety associated with strap & tarp handling

Other Duties

General housecleaning of the work area

Complete Employee Safety Orientation and all safety training programs

Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental goals

What do you bring?

Required Qualifications:

High school or equivalent or related experience

Excellent team working skills

Ability to demonstrate acceptable attendance and work days, nights, or weekends as scheduled and required by workload.

Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including hearing protection, steel toe shoes, safety glasses, and hard hats

Ability to lift, pull, push, and carry up to 50 pounds

Working Conditions:

Ability to work in warehouse setting, including various climate environments

Ability to work in Production floor elements, including dust, noise & odors

Ability to demonstrate acceptable attendance

Ability and willingness to work overtime as required

Physical Demands:

Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including hearing protection, steel toe shoes, safety glasses, and hard hats

Ability to lift, pull, push, and carry up to 50 pounds
