DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
The Environmental Services & Linen department supports a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across UW facilities. We collaborate with various stakeholders and prioritize high standards, professionalism, and customer service in all aspects of our work.
POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
Assist with recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding processes across EVS and Linen departments.
Serve as a professional liaison between hiring managers, staff, UW Human Resources, job candidates, and third-party partners.
Create and implement streamlined procedures to enhance recruitment and HR operations.
Educate team members on HR policies, systems, and best practices.
Handle sensitive information and situations with professionalism, tact, and appropriate escalation.
Strong organizational abilities, task and issue tracking, excellent communication (verbal and written), adaptability, and problem-solving.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitor requisition submissions through leadership and Workday; follow up with managers, directors, and HR to ensure progress.
Maintain visibility into requisition stages using Workday; ensure timely movement through approval processes.
Confirm approved postings in Workday and manage internal postings to meet compliance requirements.
Maintain and update third-party job listings; coordinate interview requests and troubleshoot site issues with vendors.
Retrieve and distribute candidate resumes from Workbench and HR; ensure hiring supervisors receive timely applicant info.
Track interview progress across departments to maintain momentum and support timely hiring decisions.
Communicate offers to select candidates, assist with Workday setup, background checks, and ensure HR is informed.
Track offers acceptance and background status; guide candidates through next steps in the hiring process.
Submit access requests and coordinate departmental orientation for new hires.
Monitor and follow up on onboarding tasks and compliance requirements with new employees and supervisors.
Provide guidance on HR and departmental policies; escalate and route staffing issues as needed.
Support hiring documentation, event coordination, external partnerships, and maintain tools/materials for recruitment; may lead others or perform additional admin duties.
REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or GED
Two years of office or administrative support experience
An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for stated requirements
