THE WORK
The Senior Manufacturing Planner is responsible for developing and maintaining executable production plans that support aerospace and defense program requirements, contractual delivery schedules, and customer commitments. This role partners closely with Operations, Program Management, Supply Chain, and Engineering to ensure material availability, resource alignment, and compliance with regulatory and quality standards. The position requires expertise in complex, high-mix, low-volume environments where precision, traceability, and schedule integrity are critical.
The key responsibilities include:
Managing detailed manufacturing schedules that align with program requirements, customer delivery dates, and contractual obligations.
Translating demand forecasts, hardware program control directives (HPCD), and engineering release schedules into executable work order release plans.
Ensuring DFAR, ITAR, and export compliance considerations are integrated into planning activities.
Partnering with commodity planner and master scheduler to resolve material shortages, expedite critical parts, and manage long-lead procurement strategies.
Monitoring production execution against baseline schedules; implement corrective actions when variances occur.
Providing stakeholders with regular status updates, risk assessments, and recovery actions.
Supporting audits and reviews by providing traceability and documentation of planning decisions.
Please Note: This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance; US Citizenship is required.

Basic Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of production planning in manufacturing.
Proficiency in SAP or similar ERP systems.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a secret DoD security clearance which requires US Citizenship.
Desired Skills:
Experience in aerospace, defense, or other complex manufacturing industries.
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and production scheduling best practices.
Demonstrated ability to balance competing priorities and adapt to dynamic program scheduling needs.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
