Job Title: Medical Assistant - Plano, TX

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team, working Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The role involves supporting physicians and providing excellent patient care within a professional medical setting.

Responsibilities

Escort patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment rooms as appropriate.

Record vital patient data prior to each physician visit, including vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.

Obtain all necessary patient records as required by the physician prior to treatment or procedures.

Prepare and stock exam/treatment rooms and order supplies as needed.

Assist physicians with exams and procedures by standing and taking notes.

Maintain all exam/treatment room disinfection protocols.

Answer patient telephone calls for referral to physician or nurse/pharmacist.

Phone in prescriptions and make other patient calls as directed by physicians and registered nurses.

Inform physicians of patient reschedules and no-shows.

Perform other administrative duties such as typing, filing, faxing, chart preparation, and reception as requested by supervisors or physicians.

Essential Skills

Certification as a Medical Assistant.

Experience in a medical assistant role, even without certification, will be considered.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Strong communication and organizational skills.

Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment

The work environment is supportive and patient-focused. The physician is highly appreciated by patients, often taking time to ensure thorough care, which may lead to a slightly delayed schedule. There is a satellite office in Denison that requires attention on Monday mornings.

Location

This position based out of Plano, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
