This Opportunity

WSP is currently seeking an experienced Construction Inspector with expertise in inspection of mechanical systems at water distribution systems & treatment facilities and wastewater collection systems, pump stations and treatment facilities for our Anne Arundel County, MD Office. The candidate will serve as a mechanical construction inspector to support our construction management and inspection services related to Water and Wastewater Infrastructure Projects.

Your Impact

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Provide daily site inspections to ensure compliance with approved plans, specifications and codes and maintain up-to-date project records.

Measure and record pay items.

Read Contractor submittals, requests for information, change order requests, as-built drawings and comments.

Attend job progress meeting.

Communicate conditions and field conflicts/changes to Owner.

Work closely with others team members, along with personnel from utilities, state, local, and federal agencies.

Demonstrate independent and effective problem solving/decision making.

Who You Are

Minimum Requirements:

High School Diploma

5 years of inspection related experience

Experience in field inspection, or construction supervision of mechanical work on water/wastewater projects (earthwork, roads, utilities, pipeline, infrastructure, paving, pumping stations, wastewater treatment plants, etc.).

Familiarity with water/wastewater treatment plant, pumping stations. Educational familiarity is not applicable; only construction based familiarity is valid.

Must possess knowledge and experience in ASTM, ACI, and other miscellaneous construction testing requirements, as well as knowledge in construction inspection procedures, and inspections methodologies, including the use of nuclear gauges, concrete sampling, and construction safety.

Must have good verbal and written communication and organizational skills

Compensation:

Expected Salary (all locations): $29-$36/hour

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
