Job Summary and Qualifications

The role of the PRN chaplain will be to provide coverage when there is a need. The PRN Chaplain extends care, compassion, and spiritual resources in a respectful and individualized way to persons of all cultural and religious heritages. Works with all hospital departments and personnel to provide spiritual guidance and support during illness, injury and/or emergency to patients, family members, visitors, hospital staff, and physicians. Provides leadership and counseling to employees as requested. Employee will recognize the population specific needs of the patients and apply the appropriate knowledge, skills and behaviors to meet those needs when performing patient activities.

What qualifications you will need:

Endorsement or commission by a faith group or a connection to a recognized religious community.

Experience with death and dying, the grieving process.

Bachelor's Degree (Theology or religious education degree, preferred)

Membership with American Association of Pastoral Counselors or Association of Clinical Pastoral Education, preferred

2 years' experience in Pastoral care work, preferred
