Accounts Payable Specialist

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Gardena, California. This role involves managing the full accounts payable cycle with a focus on overhead and job-related invoices, vendor reconciliations, and credit card expense processing. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in accounting systems and processes, as well as strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities:

Process accounts payable transactions, including matching invoices to purchase orders and receivers.

Handle overhead and job-related invoices, ensuring accurate coding and posting.

Reconcile vendor statements and invoices to maintain accuracy in payments.

Prepare and process credit card expenses, allocating them to appropriate accounts.

Perform journal entries and accrual accounting tasks as needed.

Set up new vendor accounts and maintain existing vendor records.

Assist in preparing check payments, verifying all reconciliations are complete.

Utilize accounting software systems such as Concur and Vista View for efficient workflow.

Provide support to staff with administrative tasks related to accounts payable.

Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures throughout all activities. Requirements - Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts payable or a related field.

Proficiency in accounting software systems, including Concur and Vista View.

Strong understanding of journal entries, reconciliations, and accrual accounting.

Familiarity with credit card expense processing and vendor account setup.

Basic to intermediate knowledge of Excel for data management and reporting.

Attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Experience in the construction industry is a plus.

Excellent organizational and communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members.
