Description

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to join our team in Plymouth, Michigan. In this long-term engagement, you will oversee critical financial operations, lead a dedicated team, and ensure the efficient processing of payments and invoices. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic healthcare environment while honing leadership and organizational skills. This role is fully onsite and will report directly to the controller.

The day-to-day responsibilities include:

Manage the accounts payable process, including invoice coding, payment approvals, and reconciliation.

Supervise and coach a team of two direct reports, fostering growth and ensuring high performance.

Oversee check runs and Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions to guarantee timely and accurate payments.

Maintain compliance with company policies and industry standards in all financial operations.

Implement strategies to optimize workflows and reduce inefficiencies in a paper-heavy environment.

Collaborate with other departments to address and resolve payment-related issues.

Monitor and report on accounts payable metrics, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

Support the transition to automated systems, improving overall efficiency and accuracy.

Develop and enforce controls to safeguard against errors and fraud.

Provide guidance and training to team members on accounts payable processes and best practices.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have the following skill set:

A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounts payable management.

Proven leadership skills, with at least 3-5 years of experience managing teams.

Proficiency in processing check runs and ACH transactions.

Strong knowledge of invoice coding and payment workflows.

Ability to thrive in a paper-heavy environment and implement strategies for improvement.

Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills.

Familiarity with financial controls and compliance standards.

Strong communication skills to effectively lead and collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
