Description

We are looking for a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team on a contract basis in Walnut Creek, California. In this role, you will support medical staff by ensuring the smooth operation of administrative and clinical tasks. The ideal candidate will bring experience in a medical setting, strong multitasking abilities, and a commitment to patient care.

Responsibilities:

Assist with patient check-ins, scheduling appointments, and managing patient registration processes.

Handle insurance authorization requests and obtain necessary approvals for medical procedures.

Maintain and update patient medical records with accuracy and confidentiality.

Support clinical staff by managing patient intake and eligibility verifications.

Coordinate with physicians and nurses to submit orders and prior authorizations efficiently.

Address and resolve any issues that arise during clinic hours with a proactive approach.

Prioritize and triage multiple tasks to ensure smooth clinic operations.

Demonstrate reliability and consistent attendance to support the team effectively.

Utilize EPIC software to manage patient data and workflows.

Uphold integrity and professionalism, especially when handling sensitive patient information.

Requirements - At least 0-2 years of experience in a medical setting, preferably in specialty or primary care.

Proficiency with EPIC software and at least 2 years of hands-on experience using it.

Strong multitasking skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple responsibilities.

Excellent problem-solving abilities and a sharp focus on finding resolutions.

High level of integrity and professionalism in handling patient care and sensitive information.

Certification as a Medical Assistant or equivalent education is preferred; extensive experience (4+ years) in a similar role will also be considered.

Must live within a reasonable commuting distance to Walnut Creek, California.
