Job Description
General Purpose:
SEMO Tank (owned by Dairy Farmers of America) sells, leases, and repairs tank trailers and offers a vast inventory of related parts for resale. The Outside Trailer Sales Representative is responsible for the development, growth, and management of existing and target trailer sales, leasing, and repair customers while periodically traveling to said customers in an assigned territory. Work with the management team and inside personnel to grow and develop new opportunities for the company while ensuring proper business practices and collective goals are attained.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Sell and lease various @types of tank trailers including liquid, chemical, and dry bulk
Sell new and used yard spotter trucks
Develop new sales opportunities through cold calling
Work with manufacturers and customers on needs and new product opportunities
Perform trailer evaluations on new and used equipment
Develop, recommend, and help with new sales strategies and marketing
Travel to accounts evaluating fleet and customer needs
Communicate with repair manager and/or satellite location manager to ensure customer's repair/shop jobs are on time and budget
Communicate with parts manager and outside parts sales personnel about new customer opportunities from trailer sales/leasing
Work with sales management team on manufacturer lead times and pricing
Attend annual trade shows to stay on top of new products and industry trends
Exhibit the values and ethics of Dairy Farmers of America through honesty, discretion, and sound judgment

Approximate Travel Expectations:

Requirements
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED required
Minimum 3 years of sales experience working in a related field
Preferred experience - 5 years of sales experience working in a related field
Certification and/or license - Class E driver's license required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Basic computer skills (Email, Word, Excel)
Excellent organizational skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to demonstrate good decision-making skills and solid business judgement
Effective problem-solving skills
Strong sense of urgency in achieving objectives, with a high energy level and strong bias towards action and follow through
Must be able to read, write and speak English
