About the Role:
As the first point of contact for most clients, the Client Service Specialists(Teller)play a key role in delivering on the bank's Breakthrough Client Service Standards. With guidance from the Float Manager, various Branch Managers and Assistant Branch Managers, the CSS-Float role's primary responsibility is to ensure banking transactions are performed accurately, ethically, and in compliance with Columbia Bank procedures and banking regulations. The CSS-Float role is also responsible for traveling within a geographic area to cover branches that need staffing support.
Always performs teller transactions and cash handling functions for clients with accuracy and confidentiality. Examples include deposits, withdrawals, cash advances, payments, transfers, check cashing, balancing cashdrawer, etc.
Accurately performs and supports daily tasks that maintain the integrity of the branch. Examples include appropriate use of double custody in balancing the ATM, processing night drop deposits, balancing negotiable instruments, processing returned mail, balancing credit card machine, updating lobby rate sheets and brochures, etc.
Mitigate risk by ensuring safekeeping of money in cash drawer and prompt accounting or transfer of funds.
Interacts with external and internal clients, anticipates needs, and consistently provides proactive solutions and problem resolutions in alignment with the bank's Breakthrough Client Service Standards.
Continuously deepensknowledge of Columbia Bank's product and service offerings and stays current on changes.
Discuss anduncovercustomer's financial needs to identify and offer appropriate products and services.
Display curiosityin order toidentify fraudulent activity
Read, understand, and follow all relevant operational procedures.
Supports referral goals for branch by focusing and identifying and referring basic bank products to the appropriate business partner.
Providesan extraordinaryclient experience during face to face, phone, and electronic interactions.
About You:
High School Diploma or GED, required.
1 year of previous banking or customer service experience, preferred.
Bilingual preferred.
Ability to learn and comply with all Bank policies, procedures, and systems.
Demonstrates exceptional attention to detail and accuracy with written numbers, words, and verbal and written instructions.
Consistently demonstrates ability and willingness tobuildsrelationships with clients and other bank associates.
Ability to think critically and provide appropriate solutions.
Requiresreading, writing and basic math skills.
Ability tolift upto 25 pounds.
Ability to stand for extended periods of time.

The pay range for this role is $18.00 - $22.00, and the pay rate for the selected candidate is dependent upon a variety of non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills,and experience, education, and geographic location. The role may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation and those details will be provided during the recruitment process.
