Accounts Payable Specialist

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team on a long-term contract basis. This role is based in Del Mar, California, and offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic construction and home-building company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in full-cycle accounts payable and a proven ability to handle month-end processes efficiently.

Responsibilities:

Manage full-cycle accounts payable processes, including invoice coding, approvals, and payments.

Perform accurate account coding and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Utilize Sage 300 and other accounting software systems to maintain organized financial records.

Support month-end closing activities, including accruals and reconciliations.

Process vendor payments through ACH and other automated systems.

Collaborate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely payments.

Audit financial transactions and reports to ensure accuracy and adherence to regulations.

Maintain vendor accounts and address inquiries promptly.

Contribute to process improvements to streamline accounts payable functions.

Assist with ERP system-related tasks as needed to enhance financial operations. Requirements

Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts payable or a related field.

Proficiency in Sage and other accounting software systems.

Strong knowledge of accrual accounting and financial reporting.

Familiarity with ADP, Concur, and ERP systems is preferred.

Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.

Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
