Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Business Analyst to join our Transaction Banking Technology organization. You will be the bridge between business stakeholders, product management, and technology teams, helping to define, design, and deliver solutions that enable our global transaction banking products and payment services. You will drive requirements gathering, process analyses, and ensure successful implementation of payments systems, digital channels, reconciliation, compliance/regulatory, and other mission-critical capabilities.
Major Responsibilities
Lead requirement gathering, including engaging with stakeholders (business lines, operations, risk, compliance, security) to define and document business needs, workflows, use cases, user stories, acceptance criteria.
Deeply understand transaction banking product functions: payments (domestic / cross-border), cash management, liquidity management, collections/disbursements, reconciliation, fraud prevention.
Analyze existing business processes; identify inefficiencies or gaps; propose improvements.
Collaborate with solution architects, system architects, and engineering teams to design scalable, robust, secure systems. Ensure that business requirements are translated into functional and non-functional specifications (security, scalability, SLAs, performance).
Participate in vendor/product evaluations and implementations.
Support regulatory/compliance requirements impacting payments and transaction banking (e.g. sanctions screening, KYC, AML, data privacy, PSD2 / Open Banking / ISO20022, OFAC, etc. as relevant).
Ensure quality through reviewing test plans, participating in SIT / UAT, and validating that functionality meets business needs.
Act as a liaison between business stakeholders, product owners, and delivery teams to ensure alignment, manage priorities, scope, changes, and risks.
Maintain detailed documentation: process flows, business rules, user journeys, data models, policies/controls.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field. (Advanced degree preferred.)
7+ years of business analyst / systems analysis experience, with at least 3-5 years in transaction banking, payments, cash management, or related financial services domain.
Strong knowledge of payments networks, standards and protocols (e.g. SWIFT, ACH, ISO20022), and experience with cross-border payments.
Solid understanding of regulatory, compliance, risk, and security considerations in payments and banking operations.
Experience mapping complex processes / workflows; strong analytical skills; ability to handle data, define data requirements, create data flow diagrams and logical process maps.
Skilled in eliciting requirements, writing clear user stories / acceptance criteria, functional requirements documents.
Experience with digital channels (mobile/web), APIs, real-time payments, reconciliation systems.
Strong communication skills: able to interact with senior leadership, translate technical concepts to business stakeholders and vice versa.
Proficiency in tools like Jira / Confluence, BPM / process mapping tools (e.g. Visio), requirement management tool sets.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in implementing or working with payments transformations (e.g., migration to ISO20022, real-time payments roll-outs).
Familiarity with cloud-based architectures, microservices, API-first designs.
Data analysis skills: SQL or ability to understand data flows, data schemas, reporting requirements.
Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments.
The typical base pay range for this role is between $129K - $161K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
