About the unit

The Cardiac Monitoring Center is located on the 4th floor of Blodgett Hospital. Central Monitor Technicians will monitor ECGs and do some video monitoring of low-risk patients in place of a sitter. Around 16 technicians will work together to monitor patients from multiple hospitals around the Grand Rapids area to ensure their safety.

Scope of work

Utilizes the appropriate software application to maximize efficiency and effectiveness of office workload. Greets and communicates in a manner consistent with caring and respect, and follows established policies for confidentiality. Answers telephone, takes messages, welcomes visitors and provides/relays information in a manner consistent with hospitality standards. Composes standard documents and independently formats, @types and proofreads correspondence, memos, reports, charts, statistics, meeting minutes, newsletters, etc.

Performs/coordinates basic office duties such as sorting/distributing mail, copying, filing, faxing, completing forms, and ordering/maintaining equipment/supplies. Maintains schedule/daily calendar for Manager/staff members/rooms/equipment, as appropriate, making independent judgments based on identified criteria. Arranges for meetings and makes travel/conference arrangements as needed. Collects, compiles and prepares data for analysis and develops systems that facilitate tracking of data. Maintains accountability for completion of assigned projects.

Required associate's degree or equivalent office administration or secretarial science

Required 2 years of relevant experience Secretarial or administrative support, clerical, project management, public education, or program planning and implementation
