Summary This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. Responsibilities The Primary Care Assistant Nurse Manager is responsible and accountable for the direction and guidance of the area specific orientation, training, development of staff, and evaluation of individual staff performance. The Primary Care Assistant Nurse Manager is responsible to cover both Tavares and Clermont CBOCs. They function as a role model educator and practitioner providing leadership to the team. They support factors that impact customer satisfaction considering the client population, including age and life stages, state of health, values, and previous experiences. The Primary Care Assistant Nurse Manager influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team. Core elements of performance include unit/program level quality improvement processes and initiatives as well as customer service programs. The Assistant Nurse Manager is a registered professional nurse who is accountable to the Nurse Manager. The Assistant Nurse Manager administratively supports the Nurse Manager. This includes the guidance and evaluation of care delivered by nursing and other allied health care staff. As a registered nurse, the ANM demonstrates a high level of clinical expertise, leadership, and creative approaches to management of complex care. This RN applies skills necessary to coordinate and/or identify discipline-specific education, training in leadership, professional staff development, and emerging needs to all levels of staff. The ANM is also responsible for contributing to the establishment and implementation of evidenced-based nursing standards of practice. In collaboration with the Nurse Manager, creates a positive work environment which enhances care delivery and professional development of clinically competent staff. The ANM promotes, creates, and demonstrates, a workforce in which the values and needs of all individuals are respected. The ANM serves as Acting Nurse Manager in the absence of the Nurse Manager and provides oversight for the administration of leave, counseling, and disciplinary actions in collaboration with the Nurse Manager. In accordance with 38 U.S.C. 7403(f), no person shall serve in direct patient care positions unless they are proficient in basic written and spoken English. Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate accrediting agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant: The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE); OR Individuals attending a master's level bridge program in nursing who have completed coursework equivalent to a bachelor's level degree in Nursing may have opportunity to become registered as a nurse with a state licensing board prior to completion of the bridge program. Upon achievement of a State license, the individual may be appointed on temporary basis and later converted to a permanent appointment upon successful completion and graduation from the bridge program. Credit for foreign nursing education higher that associate degree/entry level requires a formal degree equivalency validation from a recognized equivalency evaluation accepted by VA such as International Consultants of Delaware (ICD). Nurse II Demonstrates leadership in delivering and improving holistic care through collaborative strategies with others.
