Description
Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, the Digital Communications Manager develops and executes integrated social media strategies and email/text campaigns that align with the college's mission, events calendar, and marketing initiatives. This role requires a proactive, selfstarting individual with strong project management skills who can independently plan, produce, analyze, and develop digital content that drives engagement across platforms.
Examples of Duties
Develop and maintain a comprehensive social media calendar that aligns with the college's events calendar and marketing campaigns.
Develop social media campaign strategies and regularly report on performance, insights, and provide recommendations for future content optimization.
Design campaigns that balance data-driven insights with creative storytelling to highlight the student experience.
Create and manage all marketing social media and email campaigns, including enrollment, retention, student events/activities, and drip marketing ensuring alignment with the college's overall communication strategy.
Proactively identify opportunities for content creation, trends, and engagement, ensuring the college maintains a dynamic presence online.
Maintain and utilize the college's CRM system to manage contacts, segment audiences, and support targeted communication efforts. Work with the Center for Student Success to ensure communication alignment.
Create and edit engaging video content using tools like Canva and CapCut to appeal to the Gen Z and other targeted demographics.
Conduct on-campus interviews and film students to generate authentic and relatable social media content.
Manage college's presence on all social media platforms, including TikTok, YouTube, Flickr, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn, and other social media determined by the College.
Utilize software such as Sprout Social and Meta Business Suite for scheduling, monitoring, responding, and analyzing performance across all platforms.
Monitor and respond to social media comments and direct messages to foster community engagement, serve as the voice of the college and alert the Chief Marketing Officer of any negative or sensitive messaging.
Publicize and market Atlantic Cape Foundation special events, including the Restaurant Gala, campaigns, and golf tournament.
Serves as social media liaison with Academy of Culinary Arts and Athletics and other key departments to promote programs and events.
Research, monitor, and implement best practices and new applications in social media and online public relations to increase awareness and audience engagement.
Develop social media content by attending key events and independently capturing photographs and video that showcase the college experience.
Assists with internal and crises communication, including developing and disseminating college-wide emails and other electronic communication, monitoring social media sites, and ensuring communication of timely and accurate information to the community during a crisis.
Assist the President's Office in coordinating and producing video messages and other multimedia content for the college community.
Collaborate with the PR Manager to research, monitor and implement Web-based social networking and online public relations tools.
Monitors marketing budget through Self-Service, assisting the Advertising & Media Manager.
Takes self-guided courses in ADA web standards and remediation of documents to ensure ADA compliance in emails and social media posts. - Participates in College events as needed.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Typical Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Multimedia, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum of five years of experience in social media management, digital marketing, or a related field, with a proven track record of engaging targeted audiences and utilizing CRM systems.
Competencies and Skills:
Strong writing and editing skills.
Meticulous attention to detail, including accurate spelling, grammar, and proofreading.
Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently, make informed decisions, and manage multiple projects simultaneously within tight deadlines.
Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to pitch, test, and implement new creative approaches to social media and digital engagement.
Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office, Meta Business Suite, Sprout Social (or similar platform), and with video editing tools such as Canva or CapCut.
Solid knowledge of and relevant experience using social media/networking applications, and online tools used to measure the visibility of content
Demonstrated ability to maintain and increase professional knowledge of the latest trends, practices, programs, and applications evolving in social media/networking
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to conduct interviews and engage with students on camera.
