Accounts Payable Specialist

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Rome, Georgia. In this role, you will oversee the complete cycle of processing invoices for goods and services, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting procedures. This position requires a proactive individual who can effectively communicate with vendors and internal teams while maintaining meticulous financial records.

Responsibilities:

Audit vendor invoices to ensure proper documentation and approvals before system entry.

Process and distribute vendor payments using various payment methods.

Address inquiries from vendors and employees regarding payments and invoices.

Serve as a liaison between the company and suppliers to resolve billing discrepancies or account issues.

Support financial audits and bank examinations by providing necessary data and documentation.

Verify the accuracy of information from sales orders and shipping documents.

Generate monthly account statements for customers and maintain Excel-based accounts receivable reports.

Organize and update accounting records in the electronic file management system.

Assist with monthly and annual financial closings.

Take on ad hoc projects and additional responsibilities as required to meet company needs. Requirements - Proficiency in accounts payable processes, including invoice coding and account reconciliation.

Skilled in using Microsoft Excel and Word for financial reporting and documentation.

Familiarity with payment systems such as Automated Clearing House (ACH) and check runs.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills to handle inquiries and resolve disputes.

Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and maintain focus on deadlines.

High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential information.

Dependable and flexible schedule, with occasional availability for evening work as needed.
