Job Title: Entry Level Maintenance Technician

Job Description

Join a dynamic team as a Maintenance Technician within a fast-paced food processing company. Work with high-speed packaging and various shaping equipment for processing chicken products, including frozen, chilled, or partially fried. This role emphasizes preventative maintenance and troubleshooting in both mechanical and electrical capacities.

Responsibilities

Perform all aspects of maintenance to ensure uninterrupted facility production.

Operate under Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and adhere to all health and safety standards.

Troubleshoot and solve issues with high-speed packaging equipment.

Safely manage electrical tasks, including working with systems up to 480v.

Implement preventative maintenance plans as directed by management.

Essential Skills

Completion of Trade School in industrial electric; Coyne College preferred.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.

Competence in troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical problems.

Proficiency in working with 480v, 3-phase electrical systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

High School Diploma or Technical School preferred.

Experience or knowledge in hydraulics and pneumatics.

Ownership of basic tool set is a plus for entry-level candidates.

Work Environment

Work in a large facility with over 400 employees operating across two shifts. The environment includes multiple loading docks and a robust inventory system for processing chicken products. The maintenance team comprises a manager, three supervisors, an assistant supervisor, and 17 technicians.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of FRANKLIN PARK, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.50 - $26.00/hr.
