Financial Manager - Healthcare Organization

Are you an experienced financial leader with a passion for healthcare and community service? Join a mission-driven nonprofit organization in Mt. Vernon, NY, where your expertise will directly support the financial health of vital programs serving nursing home residents and Medicaid beneficiaries. This candidate will have strong experience in healthcare finance, Medicaid, or nursing home operations to lead a collaborative team and drive strategic financial initiatives.

What You'll Do

Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals, fostering growth and accountability.

Oversee general ledger accounting, month-end close, financial reporting, and audit readiness.

Ensure compliance with GAAP, federal/state regulations, and healthcare-specific standards.

Collaborate across departments to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.

Optimize accounting systems and internal controls for greater efficiency and transparency.

Serve as a key liaison with auditors, vendors, and regulatory agencies.

What We're Looking For

MBA in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)

Healthcare industry experience-especially in Medicaid, nursing homes, or nonprofit healthcare (required)

5+ years of progressive accounting experience with proven leadership success

Strong understanding of financial systems, reporting tools, and regulatory compliance

Excellent communication skills and a strategic mindset

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.10 - $72.12/hr.

Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms. If eligible, the benefits available for this temporary role may include the following:
