Summary:
The Sales Manager is responsible for the development and performance of all sales activities in assigned market. Staffs and directs a sales team and provides leadership towards the achievement of maximum profitability and growth in line with company vision and values. Establishes plans and strategies to expand the customer base in the marketing area and contributes to the development of training and educational programs for clients and Sales personnel.
What You'll Do:
Develop and implement the sales strategy for his/her area of focus; strategy should accommodate regional goals
Lead the Outside Sales team towards achieving the sales, customer development, product mix, and GP goals identified in the business planning process
Interface with customer's purchasing, program management, planning, and technical functions to identify the customers' needs and develop new client relationships
Hire, train, and develop salespeople to achieve highest level of sales effectiveness and customer satisfaction
Ensure sales personnel have the base level of product or technical expertise to successfully execute the sales strategy through implementation of local training programs with internal sources, vendors and suppliers, or outside schools or training programs
Meet with key clients, assist sales representative with maintaining relationships and negotiate and close deals
Track and measure the success of promotional programs and product launches against sales objectives
Prepare sales reports regularly to show volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion
Deliver sales presentations with sales representatives and help coordinate customer training
Represent company at trade association meetings to promote company and products
Serve as the liaison between sales department and other departments to ensure flawless execution and customer satisfaction
Educate sales personnel and customers about new and existing product offerings, including customer product training, proficiency with demo equipment, and target account identification with sales personnel
Create and use market analysis to determine customer needs, price schedules, discounts rates, recommend vendor partners, sales forecasting and evaluate the company's competition to ensure a competitive advantage
Effectively utilize T&E expenditures to support our sales strategy and fall within compliance/budgeted guidelines
Utilize digital tools for analysis/insights to measure sales performance and for coaching to customer opportunities
Lead external digital strategy around connected customers and eSales
Lead supplier engagement initiatives with team
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Valid Driver's License
4 Year / Bachelor's Degree - Preferred
Demonstrated track record of sales management achievement
Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
Excellent at managing time, priorities, and expenses
Ability to establish good relationships and credibility with customers; ability to collaborate at all levels
