What You'll Do
At Principal, we're looking for a strategic and innovative leader to help shape the future of our Trust & Custody business. In this role, you'll collaborate with senior leaders, subject matter experts, and distribution partners to develop and execute strategies that drive revenue growth, product innovation, and market impact across the enterprise.

What You'll Do
Strategic Growth & Product Innovation
Identify and shape new service capabilities, product ideas, and investment strategies that address client challenges and expand adoption of Principal investment solutions.
Develop and maintain a multi-year strategy and business plan focused on product evolution, business scale, and sustainable revenue growth.
Market Engagement & Go-to-Market Leadership
Present product strategies and roadmaps to distribution teams, customers, consultants, and intermediaries.
Partner with Marketing and Sales to build and deliver go-to-market strategies that differentiate our Trust & Custody solutions and maximize enterprise-wide impact.
Market & Industry Insights
Stay ahead of industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities in the trust and custody space.
Use market research and industry relationships to ensure our solutions remain competitive, innovative, and aligned with profitability goals.
Leadership & Collaboration
Serve as an informal leader who drives change, fosters a culture of innovation, and promotes teamwork across business units.
Mentor and develop talent, building the next generation of product leaders at Principal.
Who You Are
12+ years of experience in trust and custody, business development, product management, or client-facing roles in financial services; or equivalent demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, military service, or education
Proven strategic thinker with strong project management, presentation, verbal, and written communication skills
Demonstrated leadership ability, including motivating, developing, and guiding others
Strong influencing skills with the ability to align resources, manage deadlines, and communicate effectively with both technical and client-facing stakeholders
Skilled at balancing "art and science": able to deliver technical insights while maintaining strong client engagement; confident in saying "no" and articulating rationale
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to build trusting relationships across diverse stakeholders
Highly adaptable, with the ability to work effectively in complex and ambiguous situations
Broad, well-rounded working knowledge of financial services industry practices and trends
Salary Range Information
Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)
$153000 - $207000 / year
Time Off Program
Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don't accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.
