Fully understand Parker Hannifin and our customers' requirements and effectively flow these down to the immediate and secondary supply base (2nd tier).
Ensure timely processing of production orders through the supply base.
Maintain data integrity within the purchasing area of the business system (E.g. delivery dates, promise dates, etc.).
Ensure internal customers are kept apprised of the status of work in process.
Manage the entire business cycle, from solicitation, purchase order placement, confirmation, to invoice payment.
Develop creative solicitations
Solicit competitive proposals
Vigorously negotiate price, lead time and terms
Justify selection or recommendation
Consummate a clearly defined, sound, economical, binding, and enforceable contract
Monitor progress
Prevent or resolve invoicing issues
Improve performance of assigned suppliers (E.g. quality, delivery, affordability, financial stability, labor status, product mix).
Locate, qualify, and develop new, better performing suppliers.
Eliminate poor performing suppliers.
Support the quotation of new programs/contracts through supplier quotes and estimation.
Coordinate return and replacement of defective materials with Quality Assurance and the supplier.
Expedite delivery of materials as needed.
Negotiate short and long-term supplier agreements to reduce administrative burdens, while meeting all other company objectives.
Ensure support of the continuous improvement program within the assigned supplier-base.
Minimum Qualifications
Education Level:(Required): Bachelor's Degree

(Preferred): Master's Degree

Field of Study/Area of Experience:
3-5 years of experience in direct material procurement experience in aerospace and defense industries
APICs certification of CPIM or CSPM, a plus
Understanding of Supply Chain Management operational concepts surrounding purchasing, logistics, incoming product inspection and inventory control
Demonstrated use of negotiated techniques and tactics
Aerospace, hydraulic, pneumatic and/or machined parts manufacturing, engineering, cost, and/or procurement requirements knowledge/experience
Familiarity/experience with lean manufacturing, Kaizen events, and continuous improvement techniques (i.e. RCCA, Six Sigma methodology), a plus
Familiarity/experience with SPC principles and methods, a plus
Working knowledge of ISO-9001, AS9100, a plus
Use of and deployment of electronic purchasing systems (eRFQ), VMI, and consignment, a plus

Environmental & Physical Requirements
Office / Sedentary Requirements
Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each day), ability to hear the telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may also require the ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
Manufacturing / Non-Sedentary Requirements
Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work may be performed in an office or warehouse environment. Typically requires the ability to spend 66%+ hours each work day doing the following activities: stand for extended periods of time, walk, bend, stoop, or climb. May have possible exposure to dust, and may require the ability to lift and/or push up to 50 pounds 33% - 66% of the time.

Competitive Compensation
Pay Range: $100,300 to $166,900 annually
