About the Team:
Join Walmart's U.S. Controllership organization and play a key role supporting and enabling our more than 4,000 stores in their mission to serve the Customer. The Store Operations Accounting team is central to delivering accurate reporting, strong controls, and clear insights that help leaders understand and act on store and segment performance. This role operates at the intersection of accounting and operations and is critical in supporting both frontline and back-office partners.
What You'll Do:
Own end-to-end accounting execution for store and segment operations, including recurring close activities, reconciliations, and reporting.
Partner with operations, finance, technology, and controllership teams to explain and articulate Store P&L and Segment P&L results.
Lead projects that transform and modernize store accounting, ensuring changes are reflected accurately in financial and managerial reporting.
Deliver ad-hoc reporting and insights that help leaders understand financial performance and make better business decisions.
Champion process improvements by leveraging automation, digital tools, and new ways of working to improve efficiency and scalability.
Serve as a trusted partner to both back-office and frontline operations, ensuring they understand financial drivers and their impact on results.
What You'll Bring:
Strong technical accounting background with experience in U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.
Proven ability to manage both recurring accounting processes and project-based initiatives.
Experience influencing business partners in large, matrixed organizations.
Clear and effective communication skills with proven ability to translate complexity into actionable insight.
Proficiency in using tools and data to research issues, communicate findings, and provide clarity to stakeholders.
Strong project management and collaboration skills, with experience driving cross-functional initiatives to completion.
CPA or equivalent experience with large-scale, complex business environments preferred.
