University of Washington Medical Center - Montlake has an outstanding opportunity for an ADVANCED CARDIOVASCULAR TECHNOLOGIST (CVT) in the ELECTROPHYSIOLOGY (EP) LAB.
WORK SCHEDULE:
100% FTE, Full-time, 40-hours-per-week
Day Shift, Monday-Friday, 7:00am - 5:30pm, with rotating day off.
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:
Heart Institute at UW Medical Center - Montlake provides a full range of heart healthcare and prevention services.
Our services include general cardiology, cardiac diagnostic imaging tests and procedures, cardiac surgery, arrhythmia management and electrophysiology, interventional cardiology, structural heart services, advanced heart failure management, heart transplant and ventricular assist devices (VADs), adult congenital heart disease management, cardiac psychiatry, cardiovascular genetics and other advanced services.
POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:
There is no "On-Call" obligation in the EP Lab; staff sign up for 'Late Stay' to ensure some predictability in completing any cases extending beyond regular operating hours
Our team is one of the most experienced in the country in managing the risk of complex interventions.
We have access to the newest, least invasive therapies, unavailable at any other site in the region.
You and our patients have to access new cardiac devices that are not yet offered to the public.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Scrub, monitor, and circulate diagnostic and complex electrophysiology (EP) cardiology procedures
Case @types include diagnostic EP studies, device implantations, LAOO and ablations
Lead extractions and device implantations
Participate in performance improvement and CQI activities within the department
Work as part of a dynamic, interdisciplinary team
Provide excellent communication with providers and staff about changes in the patient's condition, including hemodynamic monitoring and symptomatology
REQUIREMENTS:
Associate of Arts (AA) degree from an accredited Interventional Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT) Program AND registration by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) AND Licensure by the State of Washington as a Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (CIS)
OR
Associate of Arts (AA) degree from an accredited Radiologic Technologist Program AND Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) AND Licensure by the State of Washington as a Radiologic Technologist (RT)
Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.
