Summary You will serve as a EQUIPMENT CLEANER in the Waterfront Services Division, Repair Department of TRIDENT REFIT FACILITY, BANGOR. Responsibilities You will operate various @types of equipment to pump sanitary material, fuel, oil and contents of tanks and bilges on various marine vessels such as tugboats, barges, surface craft, and submarines. You will determine proper cleaning methods of metal surfaces by using hand or mechanical means such as scraping, scaling, and chemical removal. You will exercise care during the cleaning process to prevent damage to intact paint surfaces, wire ways, piping, damping tiles or transducers. You will read and interpret blueprints, Submarine Maintenance Standards, and Naval Ship's Technical Manuals. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.
