Manager (Shift Manager), Substation Operations - Control Center

Required Education/Experience

Bachelor's Degree and 5 years' or more work experience in operations, maintenance or construction of Transmission and Distribution System Equipment and a strong working knowledge of the High-Pressure Dielectric Fluid System or equivalent experience. or

Associate's Degree and 6 years' or more work experience in operations, maintenance or construction of Transmission and Distribution System Equipment and a strong working knowledge of the High-Pressure Dielectric Fluid System or equivalent experience. or

High School Diploma/GED and 7 years' or more work experience in operations, maintenance or construction of Transmission and Distribution System Equipment and a strong working knowledge of the High-Pressure Dielectric Fluid System or equivalent experience.

Preferred Education/Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is preferred. and 3 or more years' experience as a shift supervisor preferred

Relevant Work Experience

5-7 years work experience in operations, maintenance or construction of Transmission and Distribution System Equipment and a strong working knowledge of the High-Pressure Dielectric Fluid System or equivalent experience. Required

Familiarity/knowledge of Transmission and Distribution electrical systems, i.e. - transformers, high voltage circuit breakers, control systems and basic relay protection is required. Candidates must possess a clear understanding of the High Pressure Dielectric Fluid System. Required

Must be competent in the use of Excel, Word and other Windows based programs and be able to write detailed reports. Required

Proven leadership and management skills to motivate colleagues and subordinates to effectively respond to Substation system needs. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Required

Knowledge of Safety and Environmental procedures and practices needed to meet Company and Regulatory Requirements. Required

Licenses and Certifications

Driver's License Required

Physical Demands

Sit or stand to answer a phone for the duration of the workday

Sit or stand to use a keyboard, mouse, and computer for the duration of the workday

Possess manual dexterity and the ability to use hands for the duration of the workday

Ability to read small print and symbols

Work rotating shifts, including nights, midnights, weekends and holidays

Additional Physical Demands

The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.

Must be able and willing to travel within Company service territory, as needed.
