Job Title: Byrne State Crisis Intervention Program (SCIP) Behavioral Health Deflection Project Director - Atlanta
Pay Grade: K
Workplace: Hybrid- up to 3 days per week, but subject to change based on need
Travel: Yes, 25-40% throughout the state, but with a focus on DeKalb, Fulton, and Gwinnett counties
Job Summary:
This position is grant funded for two years.
Under the supervision of the Office of Adult Mental Health Forensics Manager, the person in this position serves as the primary contact for all planning activities pertaining to the Byrne State Crisis Intervention Program (SCIP) Behavioral Health Deflection. Their duties include collaborating with internal and external partners to ensure grant activities are properly executed, identify areas of improvement, and oversee quality improvement efforts associated with this grant.
The person in this position should possess excellent research and communication skills, as they are the primary contact for all planning activities related to the grant. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for effectively collaborating with internal and external partners, preparing grant proposals, and delivering reports or presentations to senior leadership, stakeholders, and external agencies. Their primary responsibilities include oversight and management of grant activities, identifying areas for improvement, plans for sustainability and leading quality improvement initiatives. Exceptional communication abilities are crucial to ensuring the successful execution of grant objectives and maintaining compliance with reporting requirements.
Position Requirements (Not All Inclusive)
· Provides oversight and management of all grant-funded Byrne Statewide Crisis Intervention Program activities, including the development and management of project infrastructure to ensure they align with the required scope of work.
· Collaborates with the Project Evaluator to develop and implement the evaluation plan.
· Manages the grant budget and collaborates with DBHDD Program Managers to ensure contracted providers utilize funds as directed.
· Ensures all programmatic and budgetary reporting required by federal, state, and other entities is completed promptly and serves as the primary liaison between DBHDD and BJA for the grant.
· Makes recommendations for priorities and necessary changes throughout the grant cycle.
· Creates and delivers oral and written presentations or reports to DBHDD senior leadership, SCIP planning Team, department staff, and external partners.
· Participates in internal, external, state, and national meetings to learn about system innovation, best practices, and grant requirements and communicates the outputs from these meetings to senior DBHDD leadership.
· Performs job duties with minimal supervision.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Proven ability to work collaboratively across sectors and with diverse populations.
· Conducts other duties as assigned.
Additional Information:
Graduate degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in human services, public administration, business administration, program management, or a related field appropriate to the area of assignment is preferred. Three years of experience in evaluation, counseling or psychotherapy, or other helping professions; three years of experience supervising professional staff. Education and experience may be substituted for one another. Strong multitasking, organizational, and time management skills are essential, along with the ability to handle confidential matters with the utmost integrity.

High school diploma/GED and completion of 90 quarter hours (60 semester hours) at an accredited college or university and four (4) years of job-related experience; or two (2) years experience required at the lower level Planner 2 (GSP051) or position equivalent. Note: An equivalent combination of knowledge, education, job or intern experience, training, or certifications that provides the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted year-over-year.
