Job Summary
Provide process and system expertise to assure execution of Quality Planning, Quality Assurance and Quality Control within AEP Project Management. This position is responsible for assisting with reinforcing AEP approved Project Controls processes and procedures. Additional responsibilities include monitoring adherence of Project Management Teams (PMT) to the approved project delivery model.
Job Description
What you'll do:
Provide leadership and training support as needed for Project Management Teams as well as other departments impacted by Project Controls processes.
Perform quality audits to ensure the PMT is Executing projects following the PMT processes and systems. Perform quality audits to determine if project activities comply with organizational and project specific policies, process and procedures.
Identify quality improvement measures and work with management to implement. Create standard process documentation in collaboration with other departments. Provide an objective view to ensure the metrics are driving correct behavior across the broader organization.
Collaborate as needed with other groups and departments to ensure that cost and schedule processes are aligned. Provide on-going continuous improvement support as needed in collaboration with all departments.
Provide oversight of Project Management processes and recommend controls to assure accurate data outputs.
Support future enhancements of system and software used by the department
Demonstrate an understanding of the AEP project management organizational standards and assist in the management of projects to those standards.
Adhere to the guidance and standards put forth by the AEP Project Management Governance Committee.
What we're looking for:
Project Quality Analyst SG6
Education:
Qualified degrees must be in a related field from an accredited university or college and could include Accounting, Business, Construction Management, Engineering, Technology, or Project Management.
High School Diploma or GED, four (4) years' experience as a Project Quality Analyst Associate (grade 005).
Associate's degree, three (3) years' qualified experience.
Bachelor's degree, one (1) year of qualified experience.
Experience:
Qualified experience includes utility specific operations knowledge/experience with a good working knowledge of work processes and procedures.
Experience should be in design, operations, planning, project management, cost tracking analysis, forecasting, project budgets, working with accounting principles, and/or construction or maintenance of systems and/or equipment.
Project Quality Analyst Senior SG7
Education:
Qualified degrees must be in a related field from an accredited university or college and could include Accounting, Business, Construction Management, Engineering, Technology, or Project Management.
High School Diploma or GED, four (4) years' experience as a Project Quality Analyst (grade 006).
Associate's degree, six (6) years' qualified experience.
Bachelor's degree, four (4) years' qualified experience required.
Experience:
Qualified experience includes utility specific operations knowledge/experience with a good working knowledge of work processes and procedures.
Experience should be in design, operations, planning, project management, cost tracking analysis, forecasting, project budgets, working with accounting principles, and/or construction or maintenance of systems and/or equipment.
License/Certifications for both job profiles:
A professional or trade certification such as a CCMP, CETa, IQCP, PMP, RMP, etc. is not required at this level.
A certification is required to progress to the Principle (grade 008) level of this job family if you have a high school diploma/GED or non-qualified higher education degree. Otherwise, a certification is preferred at the Principle level.
In addition:
Must take extraordinary interest in the adoption, implementation, and success of AEP Transmissions standardized processes for Project Controls.
Must have a clear understanding of typical Project Control methods and procedures consistent with Project Management Institute's Project Management Book of Knowledge (PMBOK) methodologies.
Must be proficient in EcoSys and/or P6.
Travel Requirement: 15% travel time associated with this position.
Effective and compelling communication, including the use of effective listening, with all departments within AEP Transmission.
Influence the Engineering & Design, Procurement, Contracting, Estimating, and Construction procedures and processes to optimize a project.
Identify opportunities for business process improvement across projects.
Provide strategic thinking, planning, risk assessment and prioritization of project activities.
Demonstrates very sound decision making practices.
Effectively prioritize and manage conflict to provide solutions to issues that maximize synergies with an overriding goal to do the "right thing" for the company.
Take timely independent action and offer recommendations to management for resolution of elevated issues.
Seek input from Subject Matter Experts by asking the right questions, understanding the nuances, clarifying and validating information, and not relying on one's own knowledge base or assumptions.
Understand and support the policies, values, principles, structure and behavior of AEP.
Safely and effectively perform light physical duties at various work sites including home and AEP locations in varying conditions.
