Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining financial accuracy and ensuring compliance with tax regulations. You will collaborate with internal teams to manage accounting processes efficiently and contribute to the organization's financial reporting.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and review corporate tax returns, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations.

Manage sales tax reporting and filings across multiple jurisdictions.

Record and reconcile journal entries to maintain the accuracy of financial transactions.

Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring timely and precise bookkeeping.

Collaborate with other departments to streamline accounting processes and improve financial reporting.

Provide support during audits by gathering and organizing necessary documentation.

Assist in analyzing financial data to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.

Ensure timely submission of tax-related filings and payments.

Monitor changes in tax regulations and implement necessary updates to accounting practices. Requirements - Proven experience in corporate tax preparation and compliance.

Strong knowledge of sales tax regulations and reporting requirements.

Proficiency in managing journal entries and general ledger reconciliations.

Familiarity with accounting software and tools.

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Ability to analyze financial data and identify discrepancies.

Strong communication skills for collaborating with internal teams.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
