Step into a critical leadership role overseeing complex, state-level health certification programs that directly protect the well-being of hundreds of thousands of clients. Preference may be given to applicants who hold a current Louisiana Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Minimum Qualifications
A current Louisiana license in a health services field, health regulation field, or social services field plus four years of experience as a licensed practitioner in hospital or nursing home administration, health services, health regulation, or social services; OR
A bachelor's degree plus four years of experience in hospital or nursing home administration, health services, health regulation, or social services; OR
A master's degree in a health services field, health regulation field, or a social services field plus three years of experience in hospital or nursing home administration, health services, health regulation, or social services.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
Oversees licensing and certification decisions for healthcare facilities and providers, including approval of corrective action plans and enforcement actions, to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
Reviews and certifies compliance/noncomplianceto federal authorities following comprehensive document analysis, client interviews, and unannounced on-site inspections by field survey staff.
Manages and triages allegations of noncompliance,ensuring timely investigations are completed per federal protocols, and uses critical judgment to determine regulatory outcomes that can impact federal funding and client safety.
Develops and implements administrative policies and proceduresto align program operations with LDH goals and federal guidelines, while providing regulatory guidance to healthcare providers and stakeholders.
Consults with healthcare facility administratorsto maintain regulatory compliance and accreditation, directly impacting access to funding, training programs, and essential healthcare workforce development in Louisiana.
Represents LDH at hearings, conferences, and official functions,serving as a liaison to legislative bodies, professional organizations, and other governmental agencies on programmatic and regulatory matters.
