Pet Food Express is seeking a Warehouse Manager to take the lead in driving efficiency, safety, and performance in our fast-paced Distribution Center. In this role, you'll oversee various functions of the DC while guiding and developing a high-performing team. While reporting to the Sr Warehouse Manager you'll collaborate with cross-functional partners, such as Safety, Store Operations, HR, and Logistics, introduce new processes, and play a key role in shaping the future of our multi-channel distribution strategy. Please Note: This position is an on-site position at our Distribution Center in Oakley, CA. Candidates who are remote or outside of reasonable commuting distance will not be considered.
Responsibilities:
Oversees daily operations of assigned areas of the DC, including (but not limited to) associates, equipment, maintenance, safety, security, cleanliness, training, etc., ensuring warehouse is operating at peak efficiency
Provide strategic leadership, coaching and ongoing feedback to direct reports to effectively lead and engage their teams to reach performance goals in line with company policies and procedures.
Support Supervisors to lead and develop a productive and engaged warehouse team by hiring, training and providing professional development and consistent communication for all employees.
Ensure compliance with all shipping & receiving activities; investigate accidents and incidents, report facility related issues, and lend support wherever needed as required.
Ensure accuracy and productivity goals are achieved with safety being a priority; maintain and track productivity with various company programs, including Microsoft Excel and WMS.
Responsible for the movement of product to and from locations within the warehouse and maintaining warehouse configuration.
Audit documentation for discrepancies within PO's and work with the Senior Manager of DC Operations and the Transportation manager in resolving these discrepancies
Strong understanding of the (FIFO) process.
Learn and test new functionality within system, or with new systems, and assist with implementation.
Work closely with Stores, Corporate QC Team, Category Managers and vendors to validate and resolve reported issues.
Take steps to increase accuracy and safety. Ensure full compliance with OSHA, DOT, ADA and other governmental regulatory agencies while complying with Company policies concerning health and safety.
Monitor key performance indicators, drive root cause analysis and lead corrective action.
Verify payroll accuracy while monitoring and controlling overtime.
Provide regular status updates to stakeholder partners and Senior Leadership.
Ensure high standards of cleanliness and organization are maintained.
Other duties as required
Qualifications:
7 years of experience in a Warehouse Operations role, including shipping, receiving, delivery, facilities management, and inventory or similar. 4 years in a Management/leadership role in a WHS or similar environment.
2 years of experience in a high volume Ecomm operation.
Proven leadership abilities with experience in motivating, leading and developing a team through feedback, mentoring, coaching, training, and performance management.
Strong and effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to modify both to audience.
Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills with the ability to influence, collaborate with, engage and manage stakeholders throughout various levels of business.
Ability to understand, learn and teach new processes, systems and technologies quickly, and manage change efficiently, proactively and in a positive manner.
Excellent planning, time management, and organization; able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks based on demand.
Experience leading change initiatives and ability to successfully manage and lead others through change, risk and uncertainty.
Strong analytical problem-solving skills and high level of attention to detail.
Strong independent work ethic, demonstrates good judgement and decision quality.
The ability to balance details, quick decision-making, and quality control
Open-minded, collaborative and team-oriented attitude.
Experience in the following areas preferred: Transportation management, database management, Compliance, supplier management, and warehouse facility maintenance.
Highly Proficient in WMS, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Possess a positive can-do attitude, a team player.

The salary range for this position is expected to be $101,000-$115,000. Pet Food Express determines starting salary based on many factors, including but not limited to, local market rate, the qualified pool of candidates, internal compensation practices, a candidate's actual skills and experience.
