The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources is searching for someone who is energetic, efficient, and detail oriented to serve as the Clerical Assistant 2 in a seasonal position at Little Pine State Park, Waterville, PA. This position requires both exceptional customer service and clerical skills.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The Clerical Assistant 2 will be responsible to the Park Manager and Administrative Assistant for the operation of the park office and contact station at Little Pine State Park. These are the central points of the park where all park users receive information and instructions. An employee in this class performs clerical work of moderate complexity which requires the use of typing skills and the processing of a variety of documents which include the verification of information, performing mathematical calculations, coding and assisting the public. Work may also involve providing training and guidance to new employees and fulfilling a lead worker role for routine clerical operations. Work may also involve providing secretarial services to the park manager. The person in this position is a primary public contact employee headquartered at Little Pine State Park.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Seasonal, full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.

This is a seasonal, full-time position with no healthcare benefits. There is not an option to buy into health care benefits.

The season runs from approximately March 2025 until November 2025 at which time the employee will be placed on leave without pay. The employee will automatically be returned to employment March 2026.

Work hours are 8:00am to 4:00pm.

Days/shifts will vary, however will work 5 days/37.5 hours per week including holidays and weekends.

Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting hourly rate of $18.46 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or

Graduation from high school; or

An equivalent combination of experience and training.
