Research and provide legal advice and strategies to assigned business units of the Department's Office of Inspector General (OIG), Department staff and counsel whose work intersects with OIG, regulated providers and programs, and the general public regarding application of statutes and rules under the OIG's jurisdiction.
Assigned business units for this incumbent include regulatory and enforcement units overseeing Medicaid program integrity, specifically with a focus on investigations and audits related to Home and Community Based Services providers, including waivered services. Home and Community Based Services include Day Support Services, Home Care Services, Housing Stabilization Services, Personal Care Assistant, Community First Services and Supports, 24-hour Customized Living, Community Residential Services, Integrated Community Supports, and Transportation Services.
Minimum Qualifications

JD degree from an ABA accredited law school;
Current license and in good standing to practice law in Minnesota;
At least five (5) years' experience as a practicing attorney in an area of law related to the position.
Experience must demonstrate the following:
Strong legal research, analysis, and writing skills;
Building and maintaining good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
Providing legal advice to executive leadership on diverse and complex human services and data privacy matters; and
Experience in multiple areas of law, including experience litigating cases in administrative, civil or criminal courts related to this position.
Preferred Qualifications
Recognized as a subject matter expert in administrative law related to the work of the assigned business areas, and other areas of law related to DHS programs, such as:
Contracts and Interagency Agreements.
