Job Description

Constructs, erects, installs, and repairs structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard, using carpenter's hand tools and power tools, and conforming to local building codes. Studies blueprints, sketches, or building plans for information pertaining to @type of material required, such as lumber or fiberboard, and dimensions of structure or fixture to be fabricated. Selects specified @type of lumber or other materials. Prepares layout, using rule, framing square, and calipers. Marks cutting and assembly lines on materials, using pencil, chalk, and marking gauge. Shapes materials to prescribed measurements, using saws, chisels, and planes. Assembles cut and shaped materials ad fastens them together with nails, dowel pins, or glue. Verifies trueness of structure with plumb bob and carpenter's level. Erects framework for structure and lays sub-flooring. Builds stairs and lays out and installs partitions. May provide data to Automated Information Systems (AIS). Other duties as assigned.

Basic Job Requirements

High school diploma / GED equivalent, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, and two (2) years to five (5) years related experience.

Other Job Requirements

Requires the job knowledge, skill level and physical ability necessary to perform assigned job functions. To ensure compliance with safety, health and security requirements in the contract, employee will possess the ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language at the intermediate level as necessary to perform assigned job functions. Journey level certification or equivalent.

Market Rate Statement: The market rate for the role is typically at the mid-point of the salary range; however, variations in final salary are determined by additional factors such as the candidate's qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
