Job Summary
Under administrative direction, is responsible for using advanced analytical methods to extract value from business data and influence teams and decisions through the presentation of data-based recommendations. Responsible for modeling complex business problems and discovering business insights through statistical, algorithmic, mining, and visualization tools. Exercises no supervision.

Essential Job Functions
Leads the design of experiments, hypotheses testing, and model building.
Conducts advanced data analysis and identifies and designs complex algorithms to discover patterns.
Applies statistical and predictive modeling techniques to build, maintain, and improve on multiple real-time decision systems.
Models and frames business scenarios.
Works with IT teams to support data collection, integration, and retention requirements.
Develops experimental design approaches to validate findings or test hypotheses.
Educates the organization both from IT and the business perspectives on new approaches, such as testing hypotheses and statistical validation of results.
Identifies project ideas from different business stakeholders.
Creates implementation scenarios and conducts cost benefit analysis.
Creates sustainable and scalable data pipelines for data science projects.
Catalogs, documents, and manages internal and external datasets.
Appropriately vectorizes text, image, audio, machine/consumer data, time-series data, and potentially geolocation or log data.
Performs data sampling, data aggregation, and fuzzy encoding.
Generates smart hypotheses of the underlying mechanics of the business process.
Applies various regression and clustering techniques, ensemble techniques (random forests, XGBoost) and time-series analysis.
Performs real world testing of ML models such as champion-challenger (A/B testing) and cross-validation.
Continuously improves on the execution and health of models within the process environment.
Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
Three (3) years of relevant quantitative and qualitative research and analytics experience in an information technology environment
Preferred
Master's Degree from an accredited college or university with concentration in engineering, computer science, or related scientific specialty
Experience with Lean Six Sigma
Experience with SQL, Power BI, python and/or R, statistical modeling, automated data processes

Unless otherwise stated, applicants are permitted to substitute two years of related full-time experience for one year of higher education or one year of related higher education for two years of experience in order to meet the minimum requirements of the job. One year of full-time experience is defined as 30 or more hours worked per week for 12 months. One year of higher education is defined as 30 credit hours completed at an accredited college or university.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of advanced analytical methods and statistical techniques
Skill with data flows and sources at the business application level, and the data necessary for the development and proper operation of models
Skill in advanced statistical analysis, quantitative analytics, forecasting/predictive analytics, multivariate testing, and optimization algorithms
Skill in using machine learning algorithms
Skill in interpersonal communications
Skill in using Data Management Tools, Data Warehousing, Data Marts, Database Management Systems and Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL)
Skill in using various statistical and visualization tools, such as Excel, R, Python, MATLAB and SAS programming language, and potentially analytics and business intelligence (ABI) platforms
Ability to code various scripting languages: SQL, Perl, Python, etc., to cleanse raw data and bring it into a usable form
Ability to come up with solutions to loosely defined business problems by leveraging pattern detection over potentially large datasets
Ability to analyze large, complex, multi-dimensional datasets with a variety of tools
Ability to perform all the essential functions of the position, with or without accommodations
Ability to work primarily in an office environment
