Job Purpose:

This position is responsible for soliciting, promoting, and contracting conferences, meetings and social catering events. It solicits and listens to guest opinions and feedback, while proactively identifying existing or potential service failures. It notes areas for improvement, and takes corrective action to remedy failures, addressing and resolving guest complaints, and compiling guest feedback data and summary of findings for management review.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Responds to all incoming Lead inquiries for both Sycuan Casino Resort and Singing Hills Golf Resort.

Enters prospect bookings and their details into sales database

Solicits/promotes banquet and catering events for both Sycuan Casino Resort & Singing Hills Golf Resort

Maintains active communication with prospective clients

Creates event packages

Ensures meeting, banquet and event success

Communicates finalized event menu and banquet set up with the catering team

Participates in final walk-through before meeting or event,

Attends events

Acts as the liaison between the client and the catering team

Fosters excellent guest service

Recommends service improvements to the Director of Sales

Job Specifications:

Education and Experience:

Essential:

Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or Hospitality or related field or equivalent experience

3 year's experience in group resort hospitality sales

Desirable :

SERV Safe Manager Certification

Skills and Knowledge:

Essential:

Ability to establish new client relationships, and maintain existing relationships, while striving to maximize revenue

Ability to interact effectively with guests, consultants, team members, and business clientele for multiple properties

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines

Ability to negotiate and close sales for multiple properties

Ability to conduct site tours at multiple properties

Ability to prioritize time spent at multiple properties

Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks and assignments

Ability to initiate and/or follow verbal directives and written directions

Ability to communicate effectively in the English language

Ability to complete forms, documents and written reports

Ability to maintain file systems

Ability to maintain professionalism and composure

Ability to accept constructive criticism

Ability to appear for work on time

Proficiency in sales and catering software

Working knowledge of database, spreadsheet and word processing applications

Working knowledge of banquet executions

Record-keeping and organizational skills

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Desirable:

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, & Outlook

Working knowledge of Delphi, Infor

Multi-lingual
