SUMMARY:
The incumbent will be responsible for documenting and overseeing the substation construction project in the Bahamas. The incumbent can serve as the sole substation resource onsite, providing technical oversight and ensuring adherence to engineering standards and construction best practices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Interpret engineering blueprints including physical layout and protection & control schematics.
? Oversee all aspects of medium/high voltage substation construction, maintenance, and modification, including:
Site Preparation & Earthwork
Foundation Installation: Drilled pier, slab, pad & pier
Ground Grid Construction: Exothermic, swage, mechanical
Overhead Installations: Fiber and ground wire
Conduit & Cable Systems: Metallic, PVC, concrete trenching and junction boxes
Fencing: Metallic and concrete
Steel Structures: Tube, lattice, I-beam
Switchgear: Manual and motor-operated switches (various @types)
Substation Equipment: Transformers, breakers, surge arrestors, capacitor banks, regulators, circuit switchers
Bus & Insulators: Welded, swage, mechanical; post, stacked, strain
Control Enclosures: Modular and field-fabricated
Protection & Control Systems: Relays, panels, termination cabinets
Power Systems: Batteries, chargers, power and control cabling, terminations
? Perform otherduties as assigned by management.

Semi-routine; majority of work covered by established procedures.
