DESCRIPTION OF WORK Participate in daily shop operations under the supervision of park maintenance supervisor and shadow experienced mechanic, gradually progressing to hands-on tasks such as tool use, routine servicing, and minor repairs. The student will complete assigned inspections, perform guided troubleshooting, and assist with both scheduled and emergency repairs. Safety training will be reinforced throughout all activities.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Work schedule will vary based on agreement between high school and COPA location Senior enrolled in High School 2025-2026 - The internship could be for the 2025-2026 school year until 6/30/2026 Junior enrolled in High School 2025-2026 - The internship could be for the 2025-2026 school year, summer 2026, and 2026-2027 school year Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position. QUALIFICATIONS Internship Requirements: You must be at least 16 years of age by the internship start date. You must be a junior or senior status for the upcoming 2025 - 2026 high school year. Additional Requirements: You must be a vo-tech (career and technical center) student in an approved cooperative vocational program that has prepared the student for the duties and description of work described in this posting. Letter of Recommendation: You must attach a Letter of Recommendation from your school's co-op coordinator, career or guidance counselor, or similar designated school professional indicating you meet your school's requirements and are being recommended for this opportunity. Work Permit: Minors will be required to submit their Work Permit upon acceptance of this position. By participating in this program, the student and school agree to use the Commonwealth's Training Plan, Statement of Responsibilities, and Student Performance Evaluation. Forms will be provided to the student upon acceptance of this position. You must be able to perform essential job functions.
