Description

We are looking for a skilled Payroll Accountant to join our client in Hayward, California. This Contract-to-Permanent position offers an exciting opportunity to manage payroll processes for a workforce of approximately 800 employees while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The role involves supporting financial reporting, reconciliations, and audits, requiring a detail-oriented individual with a strong grasp of payroll systems and accounting principles.

Responsibilities:

Process and oversee payroll operations for 800 employees, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.

Prepare and record payroll-related journal entries in the general ledger.

Conduct monthly reconciliations of payroll accounts to verify data integrity.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.

Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to address discrepancies and maintain accurate financial reporting.

Utilize Excel for payroll analysis, including pivot tables and advanced functions like VLOOKUP.

Provide audit support by compiling necessary documentation and reports.

Identify and implement improvements to payroll processes to enhance efficiency.

Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred).

At least 3 years of experience in payroll accounting, preferably within the manufacturing industry.

Proficiency with payroll systems such as UKG Pro or similar platforms.

Solid understanding of payroll laws and accounting practices.

Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and data analysis.

Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational capabilities.

Ability to work independently and effectively manage deadlines in a dynamic environment.
