Description

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Bankruptcy Attorney Lawyer to join a law firm in Jackson / Ridgeland, Mississippi. The ideal candidate will be experienced in consumer bankruptcy law, possess strong advocacy skills, and demonstrate a commitment to delivering exceptional legal services in a fast-paced environment. This role focuses on representing secured creditors in Chapter 7, 11, and 13 bankruptcy matters across multiple jurisdictions.

Represent secured creditors in consumer bankruptcy cases, including Chapter 7, 11, and 13 matters.

Manage a high-volume caseload while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.

Conduct legal research and draft motions, briefs, and other necessary legal documents.

Attend hearings throughout Mississippi as required, collaborating with coverage attorneys when necessary.

Provide strategic advice and advocacy in contested and uncontested bankruptcy matters.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws as well as bankruptcy rules.

Utilize electronic court filing systems and servicing platforms effectively.

Collaborate with team members to promote quality and efficiency in legal services.

Identify and resolve issues promptly, analyzing information to develop solutions.

Adapt to changes and contribute to a positive team environment.

Requirements - Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Licensed and in good standing to practice law in Mississippi; additional bar admissions are a plus.

Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in consumer bankruptcy law, preferably representing creditors.

Strong knowledge of bankruptcy rules and procedures, including familiarity with electronic court filing systems.

Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort with learning new technology platforms.

Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines.
