The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for all aspects of supply chain management for the Clearwater, FL manufacturing facility. This position controls purchasing of materials and services, materials planning, production scheduling, inventory levels, kitting of materials for orders, and packaging, receiving and shipping. On time delivery to promise and request dates, lead times, inventory turns and the dollar value of inventory are key measures for this position. Timely and efficient arrival of raw materials is key to meeting the on-time delivery goals. The Supply Chain Manager controls materials and production schedules to successfully balance production requirements, inventory turnover and purchase prices. Plant working capital is optimized through inventory control. This position also coordinates material supply and sourcing with other PPL sites as required. Strict adherence and a commitment carrying out the Corporate and/or local policies, rules, and regulations in these areas is required. An employee in this position must focus on customers' expectations and strive for continuous improvement resulting in improved results for themselves, customers, and other employees.
Role Responsibilities:
Manage raw material, WIP and finished goods inventories within turn objectives and dollar levels.
Manage BOM, routing, and other system related data for facility in coordination with Engineering.
Coordinate physical inventory and cycle count program to achieve site and SBU goals.
Drive optimization of Clearwater MRP (Procure for, plan, finite schedule all mfg. assets)
Manage the production scheduling process with continuous improvements toward gained efficiencies.
Develop and maintain scheduling policies.
Develop effective vendor relations in support of strategic and budgeted purchasing & material control goals
Oversee planning of raw material purchases/requirements.
Oversee negotiation of price reductions.
Improve/Develop management systems for monitoring vendor performance.
Participate in forecast review meetings and utilize information for capacity analysis.
Ensure that accurate information regarding order lead times and delivery dates is communicated to the commercial teams (primarily customer service)
In addition to frequent verbal reports, submit weekly and monthly written reports to document and communicate the status of the department to upper management and manufacturing floor.
Initiate/Participate in self-development and training of others.
Exhibit/initiate safety awareness and safe work practices.
Abide by company policies and procedures at appropriate level.
Perform other related duties as may be reasonably assigned in the course of business.
Understand all environmental policies and significant environmental impact of job activities in accordance with the ISO14001 standard.
Implement Environmental Non-Conformant corrective action
Effectively manage a team of 10-15 people
Interfaces with Customer Service and Production on customer requirements and production capabilities.
Assure cycle counts are executed per policy.
Education:
Bachelor of Science Degree - Supply Chain Management or Logistics preferred; Required
Master's Degree - Engineering or Business; Preferred
Experience:
5 or more years in progressive supply chain management; Required
2 or more years supervisory; Required
SG WCM Methodology, Green Belt certification; Preferred
