Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Banning, California. This role is ideal for someone detail-oriented with a strong background in grant accounting and familiarity with government or non-profit industries. As a key contributor to our financial operations, you will ensure compliance with accounting standards and provide valuable insights for budgeting and planning.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and analyze journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.

Oversee grant budgeting processes and ensure proper allocation of funds.

Conduct month-end close activities, including reconciliation of accounts and preparation of financial reports.

Manage the general ledger and ensure compliance with GAAP standards.

Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly.

Collaborate with internal teams to support grant planning and reporting requirements.

Ensure compliance with industry-specific accounting practices, particularly in government and non-profit sectors.

Provide insights and recommendations to improve financial processes and controls.

Assist in audits and provide necessary documentation to support financial reviews.

Mentor and guide less experienced staff in accounting best practices.

Requirements - Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with expertise in grant accounting.

Proven knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and standards.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.

Demonstrated experience in government, non-profit, or tribal industries.

Proficiency in journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and month-end close processes.

Strong skills in account and bank reconciliations.

Ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights.

Excellent organizational and communication skills.
