Description We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team in Belleville, Illinois. This is a Contract-to-continuing position, offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to the organization's financial success while advancing your career. The role involves overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance, and driving efficiency across accounting practices.

Responsibilities:

Develop and enforce accounting policies and procedures to ensure effective financial management.

Safeguard company assets by establishing and monitoring internal controls.

Conduct audits and collaborate with external auditors to confirm financial accuracy and compliance.

Coordinate audit processes and implement recommendations to improve financial practices.

Manage cash flow by minimizing bank balances and making strategic investment decisions.

Prepare detailed budgets through data collection, analysis, and consolidation while recommending actionable plans.

Provide insights into financial health by interpreting and reporting financial data to leadership.

Ensure compliance with legal requirements by monitoring legislation, filing reports, and advising on necessary actions.

Supervise accounting department personnel to maintain operational excellence and productivity.

Identify and implement cost-saving measures to improve financial efficiency. Requirements - Extensive knowledge of corporate finance principles and accounting best practices.

Strong expertise in financial analysis, forecasting, and strategic planning.

Proficiency in general ledger systems and balance sheet reconciliation.

Experience in preparing financial statements and conducting audits.

Ability to manage month-end close processes and journal entries.

Solid understanding of corporate tax regulations and compliance.

Demonstrated skill in account reconciliation and cash flow management.

Analytical mindset with the ability to develop strategic solutions for financial challenges.
