Summit Design and Engineering, one of the fastest growing companies in the Triangle area, is seeking a full-time Accounts Payable Specialist to work at our headquarters in Hillsborough, NC. We are looking for someone who is a self-starter with attention to detail, extremely accurate and will possess a high degree of analytical skills.

Responsibilities:

Review and process Visa's in accordance with North Carolina Law.

Efficient and accurate entry into Deltek.

Maintain AP system records and coordinate new vendor setup.

Reconcile corporate credit card statements.

Reconcile vendor statements, research and correct discrepancies.

Process employee expense reports.

Assist with month-end closing.

Meet period and year-end deadlines and deliverables and close.

Review, code and process AP invoices.

Verify accuracy of invoices and contact managers for approval.

Audit employee expenses to ensure compliance with company policy prior to payment.

Communicate with personnel to research discrepancies and provide updates on resolutions.

Assist with special accounting projects, clerical and other accounting related tasks as needed.

Support everyday accounting functions and consult with other accounting staff or office staff to resolve accounting discrepancies or answer questions.

Skills and Qualifications:

High School diploma with a minimum five years of AP experience required or Associates degree in business or accounting from a two-year technical college and three years

Detail oriented with analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work well under pressure with tight deadlines.

Ability to problem solve and analyze accounting reports.

Excellent communication skills both written and verbal; ability to communicate effectively.

Excellent customer service and organizational skills.

Must be able to deal with difficult, sensitive, and confidential information.

Experience with Microsoft office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook and Adobe.
