GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) Procurement Department is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to support the success of WYDOT's operations by efficiently procuring materials and coordinating the shipment of goods for various departments.
This position plays a vital role in ensuring that essential materials and services are acquired and delivered on time to support the health, safety, and welfare of WYDOT employees. The successful candidate will be responsible for the timely acquisition of warehouse goods and the accurate and efficient delivery of products in alignment with departmental deadlines.
By contributing to the effectiveness of the Procurement Program, this individual will help ensure continued support to WYDOT's frontline operations and overall mission.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed in the job level.
Manages inventory through receipt, storage, issue, and accountability of all equipment, material, and commodities (i.e., liquor, hygiene products, cuisine ingredients, etc.).
Maintains books or accounts, distributes credits and debits, produces reports, and collects and records payments.
Supervises equipment maintenance and management.
Accounts for all hazardous materials.
Cleans and organizes storage facilities.
Updates the computer database with all inventory, equipment, and costs.
Develops and maintains the equipment acquisition and replacement plan.
Conducts annual inventories on all equipment and inventory, disposing of old and outdated equipment and inventory.
Researches and maintains a list of suppliers, best pricing, availability, and ordering.
Resolves customer/vendor problems in a positive manner.
Assists in directing personnel and in operating the warehouse management system.
Qualifications

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of warehouse procedures and techniques, including sorting and stacking.
Knowledge of Federal, State, and Local policies and regulations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience Substitution:
2-4 years of progressive work experience (typically in Purchasing or Inventory) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Shipping and Receiving Clerk I

Education:
Associate's Degree (typically in Finance)
Experience:
0-1 year of progressive work experience (typically in Purchasing or Inventory) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Shipping and Receiving Clerk I
Necessary Special Requirements
PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at a sustained rate.

Qualifying eligibility and criteria for the hiring bonus
Acceptance of a permanent full-time non-exempt/exempt position posted for public recruitment
Temporary employees accepting a full-time position
Current employees accepting a promotional opportunity - recruitment must have been opened to the public
One year of service to WYDOT must be completed; failure to complete this requirement will forfeit the hiring incentive, and funds will be recouped from final pay.
Internal candidates would be required to remain in the position for a minimum of one (1) year from their promotion date.
Employees would only be eligible for one (1) hiring bonus in a 12-month period.
If the employee elects to downgrade through an active recruitment and/or appointment during the twelve (12) month period, they would be required to pay the bonus back.
