This position is responsible for providing direct supervision and training of Incarcerated Persons working in a correctional industry setting.
Primary responsibilities include:
Provide direction and coordination to incarcerated workforce in manufacturing and/or distributing a diverse array of MINNCOR Industries products.
Hire, supervise, train and direct incarcerated persons for the functions of MINNCOR Industries so that a trained workforce is established, and deadlines are met.
Provide and interpret financial information, researching and reporting on factors that influence business performance. Ensure that data collected is reported timely and accurately.
Ensure safety and security through the adherence of established DOC policy, instructions, and procedures so that security in industry programming areas is always maintained.
This position has direct contact with incarcerated individuals and works within a Minnesota Correctional Facility (MCF).
Minimum Qualifications
To be qualified for this position, applicants must meet all of the minimum qualifications listed below. Ensure that your resume contains descriptions of your work experiences sufficient for comparison against the requirements stated below and indicate the beginning and ending month and year of each job held.
A minimum of one (1) year experience in a manufacturing, industrial, production, or assembly setting.
Applicants meeting the above qualification(s) will be further assessed on the following:
Experience in cost and project estimating to develop pricing, negotiate discounts and contracts, and resolve claims.
Knowledge of manufacturing sufficient to demonstrate understanding of processes and equipment.
Ability to prioritize and schedule work to ensure product is ready at time promised.
Basic personal computer skills, including e-mail software and word processing skills, sufficient to communicate with supervisors, customers, and vendors and to maintain records andcomplete reports.
Interpersonal skills sufficient to effectively coordinate work with other departments and agencies.
Customer service skills sufficient to effectively and diplomatically deal with customer complaints and inquiries and to ensure customer satisfaction.
Preferred Qualifications
The following qualifications are strongly desired of applicants seeking consideration for this position:
One (1) year or more experience directing the work of others in a manufacturing, industrial, production, or assembly setting.
Experience supervising incarcerated individuals.
Experience with manufacturing, industrial, or production machines.
Experience with Epicor ERP solution software and OnBase.
Experience with inventory control processes, quality assurance, and piece/parts inspection.
Experience working directly with customers in addressing timelines, due dates, problem solving, and instruction issues.
Proficient computer skills to do order entry, Excel spreadsheets, and inventory management.
Physical Requirements
The completion of pre-placement physical components may be required for this position. These components may consist of a tuberculosis screening, commercial drivers license (CDL) drug test, and/or respirator clearance. The selected finalist may also be required to review and sign a Physical Demands Analysis (PDA) for this position. Additional Requirements
The selection process may include screening the top candidate(s) on their criminal history, predatory offender registration, offender associations and/or other applicable background information in accordance with Department of Corrections' policy. Top candidate(s) must pass a criminal history check which includes successful completion of all sentencing and/or restitution requirements of law enforcement jurisdictions, including probation.
Employment history/reference checks, including incidents of sexual harassment, will also be conducted on the top candidate(s) in accordance with Department of Corrections' policy. This may include a review of job performance and discipline records.
New employees will be fingerprinted within the first 30 days of employment.
