Job Description
This position assists with the organization of section files and data. This work includes moving section files into the division-wide electronic data management (EDM) system, retrieving files requested under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), and assisting with data verification for the Brownfield Assessment and Redevelopment Section (BARS).
This position serves as support to the FOIA Coordinators. It requires the ability to: use the Department's FOIA request system; assign, close, and fill FOlAs; and communicate with staff and the public to meet tight regulatory timeframes.
This role is also responsible for reviewing, evaluating, preparing, and releasing official records for public access that are generated by BARS. It includes ensuring that regulatory requirements are met for official records being distributed to the public, retention schedules are adhered to, and policies and procedures for records archiving are followed.
The position is also responsible for reviewing and evaluating documents received from the regulated community to determine whether all submittal requirements have been met and communicating with the submitters if documents do not include required information. After determinations are made that the submitted documentation meets regulatory requirements, this position then adds the documents to the records management system for further scientific review and data analyses.

One year of experience performing experienced-level administrative support activities equivalent to the 7-level in state service.
Departmental Technician 8
One year of experience performing administrative support activities equivalent to the 8-level in state service.
OR
One year of experience as a technician or paraprofessional equivalent to the entry level in state service.
Departmental Technician E9
One year of experience as a supervisor of administrative support activities equivalent to the 9-level in state service.
OR
One year of experience performing administrative support activities equivalent to the 9-level in state service.
OR
Two years of experience as a technician or paraprofessional, including one year of experience equivalent to the intermediate
level in state service.
Alternate Education and Experience
Departmental Technician 7
Completion of two years of college (60 semester or 90 term credits) may be substituted for the experience requirement.

Possession of a Bachelor's degree may be substituted for the experience requirement.

Possession of a Bachelor's degree and one year of job-related experience may be substituted for the experience requirement.
