Job Description
This position functions as a first-line professional manager of professional positions in a complex work area and is responsible for the management of the Supportive Services Section, Metro Business & Workforce Engagement. Exercises independent judgement in the oversight, development and implementation of Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) and Small Business Program (SBP) including outreach and recruitment, Bonding Education Program, Small Business Lending Program, Mentor Protégé and career outreach with local high schools. Serve as a member on the Unified Certification Program (UCP) committee. This position is responsible for the management of staff involvement with any job creation efforts and DBE and SBP Metro program outreach. This position is responsible for utilizing the Department's standard specifications for construction and administrative rules governing the prequalification of contractors and consultants and interpreting all applicable Federal Regulatory Program Requirements while maintaining alignment with OBD's and Michigan Department of Transportation's (MDOT)'s overall strategy identified in the business plan. Maintain positive public relations with all State DBE/Airport Concessions Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (ACDBE), UCP agencies, State and Federal government officials, unions, various associations, general public, and transportation industry contractors.

Education
Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.
Experience
Four years of professional experience, including two years equivalent to the experienced (P11) level or one year equivalent to the advanced (12) level.

Paid Parental Leave:Eligible employees can take 12 weeks of paid leaveimmediately after a birth or adoption to allow needed time together at home with a new child.
