We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Clerk for a contract position. In this role, you will provide essential accounting support focused on accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchase order processing, and general ledger functions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate accuracy, reliability, and the ability to manage sensitive financial data with professionalism. Accounts Payable:

Review, code, and enter vendor invoices into accounting software.

Ensure timely payment of invoices and monitor outstanding balances and due dates.

Process accounts payable checks and file/scan related documents.

Maintain vendor records, including W-9 forms and EFT details.

Communicate with vendors to resolve invoice or payment discrepancies.

Accounts Receivable:

Assist in generating customer invoices and tracking receivables.

Post payments and reconcile customer accounts.

Follow up with customers on overdue balances as needed.

Purchasing Support:

Create and track purchase orders in accordance with company procedures.

Match purchase orders, receiving documents, and invoices for accuracy.

Coordinate with department heads for approvals and documentation.

General Accounting:

Assist with month-end closing activities including journal entries and accruals.

Prepare basic financial reports and ad-hoc reports as requested.

Maintain accurate and organized accounting records and documentation.

Requirements

Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.

1-3 years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role.

Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word); experience with NetSuite is a plus.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Dependable, professional, and able to maintain confidentiality.
