Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Stoneham, Massachusetts. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to key financial operations, including managing accounts payable and receivable, payroll processing, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting expertise and be committed to ensuring accuracy and compliance in all financial activities.

Responsibilities:

Oversee and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions to ensure timely and accurate processing.

Handle payroll operations, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time.

Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets and profit and loss statements, while ensuring completeness and accuracy.

Perform reconciliation of balance sheet accounts to maintain consistency and accuracy in financial records.

Assist in the preparation of corporate tax returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations.

Manage sales tax reporting and ensure timely submission of required documentation.

Record and maintain accurate journal entries to support the general ledger.

Monitor and update the general ledger to reflect accurate financial transactions. Requirements - Proven experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable management.

Familiarity with payroll processing and related systems.

Strong knowledge of corporate tax, including tax return preparation and compliance.

Experience with sales tax reporting and filing requirements.

Proficiency in recording journal entries and maintaining general ledger accounts.

Ability to prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
